Client education is a fact of clinic life. We all do it every day, because we know it’s vital to gaining client compliance with pet health recommendations.

Dentistry is a good example. Most of us are diligent about educating clients on dental health. Some of us have even moved to preventative care – teaching new puppy/kitten owners about the importance of brushing teeth, as well as showing them how to do it. When it comes to internal parasites, we all preach prevention. We know all the reasons, methods, benefits and problems. Who hasn’t used the heartworm-infested heart model to drive home the importance of preventing the problem?
